Let’s do life for real.
My name is Miya, and my practice is an introspection-based self-development technique. This means that, for whatever problem you’re bringing to the table, we work together to build a sense of how you think and feel, what motivates you, and what blocks you. All of this is aimed at opening up the possibility landscape you see before you, enabling you to make real choices and take meaningful action.
Find what works for you.
There is no single type of problem or person my work is specially targeted toward—what I do is built on a general model of mind, rather than a specialized theory of any particular mental phenomenon (such as depression or anxiety). While I welcome the use of many different ethical frameworks and spiritual traditions, I don’t hail from any such tradition myself. You bring you; I work with you.
My clients’ goals include steering their companies more confidently, improving their relationships, re-tooling thought their processes, or simply understanding themselves better—among other things! If you want to work on something in the realm of what you think of as your brain, your psyche, your soul, or your self, I am happy to help.
A typical session takes the form of an extended conversation—you’ll talk, and I’ll ask you some questions, and you’ll talk some more. I may pose thought experiments or offer short meditations or exercises. Sometimes, I will simply be a mirror. Other times I may argue with you. Everyone is different, and so a typical session looks different for everyone—we will find our way to what works best for us as a team.
